Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Applicants with 6 credits - 2.0. Applicants with 7-14 credits - 2.5. Applicants with 15-23 credits - 2.25. Applicants with 24 or more credits - 2.0. Applicants with an associates degree - 2.0. Higher GPA requirements vary by major.
  • Official Transcripts:
    High school transcripts are required if applying with less than 30 credits or if the previously attended institution is not accredited. College transcript(s) from every institution attended are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/ACT scores are required if applying to the Teacher Academy or the Honors Academy.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Applicants to the Teacher Academy and the Honors Academy must submit two letters of recommendation.
  • Essay:
    Essays are required for applicants to the Honors Academy.
  • Application Fee:
    Yes, $70 nonrefundable fee must be submitted with the application.
  • Interview:
    Not required for admissions consideration.
  • Other Requirements:
    Applicants who have been dismissed from another college for academic reasons are not admitted as transfer students. Applicants transferring from a CUNY community college must meet standards of proficiency in areas of math, reading, and writing.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    In general, credit may be granted for courses where a grade of at least a C has been earned.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Minimum credits - 6 credits. Maximum credits from a two-year institution - 60 credits. Maximum credits from a four-year institution - 90 credits.
