Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The minimum GPA for transfer admission consideration is a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Official Transcripts:
    High school transcripts are required if applying with less than the equivalent of one full year of college. College transcripts from every institution attended are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/ACT scores are required if applying with less than the equivalent of one full year of college.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Two letters of recommendation are required and at least one of which must be from a faculty member of the institution you currently attend.
  • Essay:
    A personal essay is required.
  • Application Fee:
    $50 nonrefundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    Though not required, an interview is recommended.
  • Associates Degree Required:
    Up to 18 units may be awarded to a student who has earned an acceptable Associate’s Degree from an accredited two-year college.
  • Other Requirements:
    A statement of good standing from the previous institution is required. Additional requirements, including application deadlines and auditions, vary by program.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    In general, credit may be granted for courses taken when a grade of at least a C has been earned.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    More than the min of 36 graduation units may have to be completed in order to meet major and/or general education requirements. Junior standing requires a minimum of 17 units. Up to 27 units may be awarded to a student who has attended a 4-year.
